About
About Land’s Edge Realty: Ric and Daria Gerig, owners of Land’s Edge Realty, have almost 30 years combined experience in real estate. We’re a personable, small mom and pop shop of integrity who listen to your needs and go the exta mile. We love our professions because we love helping people make their dreams come true, from assisting a client in purchasing his or her very first piece of dirt, to guiding an experienced seller, to everything in between.
Here’s the backstory: In 1998, we were determined that Ric should venture out from his career as a banker into self-employment where he could be more focused on our large family. Very “wet behind the ears” regarding off-grid, country living, we were eager to abandon city life for a more natural, self-sufficient, homestead-like lifestyle. In the midst of the land hunt, Daria observed the myriad of ways in which real estate agents presented themselves and their businesses. Some ran professional, ethical services; others… not so much. With the help from a knowledgeable, personable, “down home” local agent, we found the perfect acreage high in the mountains of Okanogan County, WA and began to live the dream. Never had we considered becoming real estate brokers ourselves. We had, in fact, just recently created a small advertising company that we anticipated would be our “bread and butter.” With Daria’s part-time work as a nurse and a teacher, we muddled along but the long commutes soon became drudgery.
As life unfolded, we desired to work closer to our locale; entering the real estate field gave us that privilege. Ric hung his license under the agent who helped us find our homestead and, four years later, we stepped out on our own. In 2006, we opened our first real estate office in our home (Desert Lake Realty) down in Aeneas Valley east of Tonasket, WA. Daria got her broker’s license one year later. We remained in northeast WA for thirteen years, assisting real estate clients and raising dairy goats. Desiring to be closer to some of our children/grandchildren and the ocean’s natural healing elements, we retired as goat farmers and relocated to Ocean Park, WA. We are LOVING this new chapter of our lives.
Give us a call or stop by our office for a cup of coffee and a chin wag! The ocean is beckoning!
